Getting There and Parking
By Train
Cheltenham Spa is the town's only station, managed by Great Western Railway. GWR runs roughly hourly trains towards Swindon, Reading and London Paddington, and CrossCountry links the town with Birmingham, Bristol, Cardiff and the north. The station is about a mile from the town centre (0.9 miles from the Promenade in a straight line, worked out from the coordinates). Visit Cheltenham puts the walk at 20 minutes along the traffic-free Honeybourne Line path; bus D takes about 10 minutes. National Rail says there is some step-free access to all platforms, which sit below the level of the main entrance, and that there are no lifts.

Park and Ride
Cheltenham has two park and ride sites. Arle Court Transport Hub, near M5 junction 11, is owned by Gloucestershire County Council. Service 100, run for the council by Stagecoach West, goes direct to the Promenade, where the market is, every 15 minutes Monday to Friday and every 20 minutes on Saturdays. The council's page gives no Sunday frequency, so check before a Sunday visit. An adult return is £3.50 and a return for a car load is £5.00 (October 2026); parking is free once your registration QR code is scanned on the bus. The Racecourse site, north of the centre, is served by Stagecoach buses D and E. No Christmas market arrangements had been published when we checked.
| Site | Postcode | Bus | Notes |

| Arle Court Transport Hub | GL51 6SY | Service 100 to the Promenade | Multi-storey open to 10pm Monday to Saturday, 6.30pm Sunday. 2.3m height barrier |

The council car parks closest to the stalls are Regent Arcade and Rodney Road, reached from Imperial Square, and Royal Well, St George's Road and Chelt Walk, reached from St George's Road at the Neptune's Fountain end of the Promenade. At Regent Arcade, which is pay on foot, normal charges apply to everyone. Royal Well has a four-hour limit. Visit Cheltenham recommends park and ride over driving into the centre. Accessibility
Visit Cheltenham publishes access information for the town rather than for the market. The stalls are on the pedestrianised part of the Promenade. All council car parks have disabled bays, and Blue Badge holders may use any other bay if those are full. Most public toilets open with a RADAR key. Changing Places toilets are listed at John Lewis on the High Street, Montpellier Gardens, Pittville Park and Leisure at Cheltenham. Stagecoach buses are low-floor and take a limited number of wheelchairs and approved mobility scooters. The station is a mile from the centre, with buses and taxis outside.

What Else Is On
A free Christmas projection lights up the Municipal Offices on the Promenade every evening from 3 to 16 December 2026, so it overlaps the first week of the market. Visit Cheltenham also lists Christmas late night shopping from 3 to 10 December, the Christmas lights switch-on at Pittville Pump Room from 27 to 29 November, and The Christmas Meeting at Cheltenham Racecourse on Friday 11 and Saturday 12 December. The Everyman Theatre's pantomime, Cinderella, runs from 27 November 2026 to 10 January 2027.

Where to Stay
The Promenade is in the middle of town, so anywhere in the centre, around the High Street or in Montpellier is within about ten minutes on foot. Pittville, to the north, is a slightly longer walk. Places near the station are about a mile out, with a frequent bus into town.
