Best Christmas Markets is an independent guide to the UK's Christmas markets. It exists to answer the questions people ask before they set off: is it open on the day we can go, what time does it shut, where exactly is it and do we need a ticket?

Who's Behind It

Hi, I'm Chris Davidson. I live in Nottinghamshire and I'm a dad of seven, so a day out at a Christmas market takes some planning. More than once I've looked a market up and found three different sets of dates, two of them from earlier years.

This site is my answer to that. Every date on it has been read on the organiser's own page for this year, and each market shows the day it was checked.

My day job is IT: I run Bobble Solutions, looking after servers for other businesses.

Where Our Information Comes From

Dates, opening times and entry costs come from the organiser's, venue's or council's own website, never from another guide. Every market page links to the source and shows the date we checked it.
Rankings are counted from search data, not chosen. Nobody can pay to be included or to move up.
Photos are by photographers who share their work under open licences, credited under each photo and on our credits page.
