Getting There and Parking

By Train

Worcester has two stations, both managed by West Midlands Railway. Foregate Street is the closer: the organiser puts it 0.3 miles from the Fayre, with Shrub Hill 0.6 miles away. The organiser says there is a regular service to Birmingham and that Great Western Railway runs trains to London Paddington in just over two hours. National Rail lists Foregate Street as step-free to all platforms, with lifts, though the platforms are above street level. Shrub Hill has only some step-free access and no lifts, so Foregate Street is the better choice with a wheelchair or pushchair.

Parking

The organiser warns that city centre car parks get very busy during the Fayre and suggests another way in or an early start. Its page mentions a park and ride and extra buses but had no 2026 sites, fares or times when we read it. Worcester City Council's car parks charge 24 hours a day. Copenhagen Street and Providence Street are closest to the stalls. Cornmarket's page says it is closed for the Fayre (the notice still shows last year's reopening date), so do not plan on it. St Martin's Gate multi-storey on City Walls Road is the largest and shuts from midnight to 7am. Blue Badge holders park free for up to three hours with the clock set.

What Else Is On

Worcester Cathedral's Christmas Tree Festival is open from Friday 27 November 2026 to Tuesday 5 January 2027, so it covers all four Fayre days. The cathedral says the dates are subject to change and that the festival is shut on Christmas Eve afternoon and Christmas Day. The cathedral also lists a Christmas by Candlelight concert on Wednesday 9 December at 7.30pm. At the Fayre itself the funfair keeps going until 10.30pm on the Thursday, Friday and Saturday, after the stalls have closed.

Where to Stay

The Fayre fills the pedestrian streets of a compact city centre, from the High Street and Cathedral Square across to New Street and Friar Street, so anywhere central is a few minutes' walk from the stalls. The streets around Foregate Street station to the north and around the cathedral to the south are both close. Places near Shrub Hill station are a little further out, about 0.6 miles by the organiser's figure.
