Getting There and Parking
By Train
Truro station is managed by Great Western Railway. It is on the main line from London Paddington, and the branch line to Falmouth starts here. Visit Truro describes the station as west of the city centre, on a hill; Lemon Quay is about 0.6 miles away in a straight line (from the coordinates), downhill on the way in and uphill going back. National Rail says the platforms are step-free, though this may be by long or steep ramps or via streets, and there are no lifts. Cornwall Council says valid PlusBus tickets are accepted free on the park and ride buses.

Park and Ride
Park for Truro has two linked sites: Langarth Park on the west side and Tregurra Park on the east. Go Cornwall Bus runs the buses for Cornwall Council. A day ticket is £2.70, a family day ticket (two adults and up to four children) £5.40, and a group saver for up to five adults after 9am £6.80 (October 2026). Concessionary bus passes are not accepted. The catch for market visitors is that it runs Monday to Saturday only, with no service on Sundays, and the sites are locked at 8.30pm, before the market's 9pm close on the four late Wednesdays. No Christmas changes were shown when we read the council's page. Dogs are allowed on the buses.

Parking
Lemon Quay's own multi-storey, entered from Fairmantle Street, is privately run by Excel Car Parking. The nearest Cornwall Council car parks are Garras Wharf, Moorfield on Calenick Street and the short-stay Old Bridge Street. Moorfield's multi-storey decks are closed after a structural inspection, leaving 236 spaces. Council charges apply 9am to 6pm every day, followed by a £2.50 evening session to midnight. Old Bridge Street is the only council car park in Truro still taking cash. Blue Badge holders pay the normal fee unless the vehicle is registered with the council's exemption or adapted vehicle scheme. Prices read October 2026.

Accessibility
Visit Truro, the city council's visitor site, publishes access information for the city centre rather than for the market. It says the centre is flat, with dropped kerbs and pedestrian crossings, but that cobbles and the leats (open water channels) make some surfaces uneven. Accessible toilets, opened with a RADAR key, include those on Lemon Street by the telephone boxes. There is a Changing Places toilet on Green Street next to the bus station, which needs a fob arranged in advance. On-street disabled bays are on Lemon Street, Boscawen Street, River Street, King Street and Duke Street. Park and ride buses carry one wheelchair, and both sites have Blue Badge bays.

What Else Is On
Boscawen Street, a short walk from Lemon Quay, has its own Christmas markets on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 21 November to 23 December 2026. Shops stay open until 9pm on Wednesdays 2, 9, 16 and 23 December, the same nights the market runs late. The Father Christmas Parade is on Wednesday 2 December, with Rock Choir at 6pm and the parade at 6.30pm. Father Christmas is at Cornwall Museum and Art Gallery from 12 to 24 December, which needs booking. The Christmas lights go on during the afternoon of Saturday 21 November, the market's first day.

Where to Stay
Truro is small and Lemon Quay is at its centre, beside the bus station. Anywhere in the city centre, around the cathedral or along Lemon Street is within five to ten minutes on foot. The station is about a quarter of an hour's walk away, up a hill. There is no park and ride on Sundays, so staying centrally saves a search for parking that day.
