Getting There and Parking
By Train
Sheffield station is the nearest, managed by East Midlands Railway, with step-free access to all platforms. It is about a third of a mile in a straight line from the Town Hall end of the market, uphill into the centre. Welcome to Sheffield lists East Midlands Railway trains from London St Pancras every 30 minutes, hourly fast trains from Manchester, and TransPennine Express and Northern services. Supertram stops at the station, reached over the footbridge, and serves the City Hall stop by Barker's Pool. Most local buses leave from the Bus Interchange or Arundel Gate, both a short walk from the station.

Park and Ride
Sheffield's park and ride is mostly by tram. Parking is free at the Travel South Yorkshire sites and you pay for the tram ticket; the sites below are open 24 hours with a 2.1 metre height barrier at most. Trams run up to every 12 minutes into the city centre. Nunnery Square, just off the Parkway, is the closest to the centre, though some of its spaces are fenced off for tram works. Dore and Totley station car park is partly or fully closed until Friday 4 December 2026 for Network Rail works. No Christmas market arrangements had been published when we checked.

Parking
Sheffield City Council runs several surface car parks in the centre as well as on-street bays, but it shows them only on an online map, with no list of names, postcodes or prices that we could read, so there is no table here. On-street bays in the centre charge every day from 8am to 8.30pm with no time limit, and Blue Badge holders and motorcycles can use pay and display parking free. There is nothing to pay in council car parks or on-street bays on public holidays. Privately run multi-storeys are also dotted around the centre. The Clean Air Zone does not charge private cars.

Where to Stay
The cabins run through the middle of the city centre, so anywhere around the Town Hall, the Peace Gardens, Fargate, Barker's Pool, Division Street and The Moor is on the doorstep. The station and the area around Sheffield Hallam University are about ten minutes' walk downhill from the Town Hall end. Kelham Island and Ecclesall Road are further out and better reached by bus or tram.
