Tenterden Christmas Market 2026

Tenterden has no main-line station. Explore Tenterden, the town council's visitor site, gives Ashford International and Headcorn as the nearest; both are managed by Southeastern. In a straight line Headcorn is about 7 miles from the High Street and Ashford about 10 (worked out from coordinates, not road distances). National Rail's onward travel posters (data correct at June 2026) show bus 12 from Headcorn station to Tenterden running daily, Sundays included, and buses 2 and 2A from Ashford International running a limited daytime service on Mondays to Saturdays only, with no evening or Sunday buses. So on Sunday 22 November the bus link is from Headcorn. Check times with Traveline before you set out.

The organiser says the High Street is easy to reach from all the town centre car parks. Ashford Borough Council runs four, and all charge £1.30 an hour between 8am and 6pm (read October 2026), with a 65p minimum. Bridewell Lane is the cheap one for a long visit: £6.00 for over four hours, and free on Sundays and bank holidays. The other three charge £13.20 for over four hours. Blue Badge holders park free for up to three hours in any bay, with the badge and clock displayed. The High Street also has free one-hour bays and disabled bays with a three-hour limit; the council's page does not say whether the market affects them.

We found no other official Christmas event dated for the four market days. The town council's own Christmas evening comes two weeks later: late night shopping on Friday 4 December 2026 from 6pm to 9pm, with carols and the blessing of the town's Christmas tree in front of the Town Hall from 5.15pm, and a craft fair in the Woolpack Barn from 4 to 6 December. The Kent & East Sussex Railway's ticketed Santa Specials start on Sunday 29 November, a week after the market, and run on listed dates up to Christmas Eve.

Tenterden is a small town built along one long High Street, and the stalls are on it. Anywhere in the town centre is a few minutes' walk away. St Michaels, at the northern end of the town, is further out: allow for a longer walk or the bus. There is no main-line station to stay near, so if you are coming without a car, somewhere on or just off the High Street saves relying on the buses.
